Robert Lyn Clark

April 16, 1944 — June 1, 2022

Robert Lyn Clark, 78 years, of Midland, passed away Wednesday June 1, 2022 at his home after a long illness. The son of the late Leonard Clark and Marie (Heiler) Hoffman, was born in Frackville, Pennsylvania on April 16,1944. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and went on to enlist in the Unites States Marine Corp where he served one tour of duty in the Vietnam war.& After returning home, Bob and his wife Diana came back to Michigan where he worked with AT&T as a splicer, retiring in 1999, after 31 years of service. Among his many hobbies, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, working on clocks, collecting antiques, and also had a side business working as a stainless-steel trim refinisher for antique cars/parts. In addition, Bob was a founding member of the Midland Street Association, the VFW Chemical City Post 3651, and the Sanford American Legion Post 443.


Surviving is his wife of 53 years, the former Diana K. Mashue of whom he married on August 3,1968; daughters, Susan (Randy) Walker of Beaverton, and Rachel (Matt) Schieber of Midland; and a son Thomas (Amy) Clark of Midland; grandchildren Randy Walker, Jr., Minda McCartney, Dylan (Casey) Clark, Jillian Clark, Hayden Clark, Carson Clark, Griffin Clark; great-grandchildren Ben Otis and Raegan McCartney, a brother, Tom Clark of Reading, PA., and a sister Mary Barbara (Sean) Monasmith of Oley, PA; Brother-in-laws Bill (Teri) Mashue and Steve (Teresa) Mashue; Sister-in-law Margo Biggs; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Jake and Lisa Hickerson (Mason and Hadley). In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his in-laws, William and Ruth (Sirrine) Mashue, and his sisters, Ellen Nelson and Elizabeth "Betsy" Harkins.


Per Bob's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday June 17, 2022 at Floyd Church of God with Rev. Rowley Shook officiating. Interment of his ashes will be in Homer Township Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
