Robert Allen Brethour

Robert Allen Brethour, age 53 of Sanford, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born on February 17, 1964 in Midland, the son of Gloria A. (Ross) Brethour and the late Ross M. Brethour. He attended Saginaw and Midland Schools, graduating from Midland High in 1982.

He served in the U.S. Army, National Guards, and served many years in the U.S. Navy aboard several submarines and surface ships. He left the Navy in 2013 Ranked CS1. Bob was a member of Resurrection Life Church, American Legion Post 443, Patriot Riders, and the Michigan Bikers Helping Veterans.

Survivors include sons, Kyle, Brennan, and Tyler; his mother; grandmother, Lucille Ross; brother, Ron (Stacie) Brethour; nephews, Ryan and Joseph Brethour, nieces, Allison Brethour and Katie Letson; aunts, Carol Price and Sally Brethour, uncles, Lyle Ross and Mike (Sue) Ross; and his many cousins. He is also survived by his estranged wife, Margot Brethour and his stepsons Bobby and Kenny Maxwell; his true love and companion for the past four years, Michele Spangler.

Also surviving is his Little Biker Buddy, 9 year old Jadyn Robinson who was also injured in the accident; her brother Karsyn Robinson; Bob's granddaughter A'moni Spangler; and his beloved canine companions, Sheba, Gracie, and Kona.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Ross M. Brethour; brother, Ross W. Brethour; and grandfather Eithel (Teet) Ross.

Funeral services for Bob will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor James Smith of Ressurection Life Church officiating. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Funeral Military Honors will be provided by the U. S. Navy and the Midland Area Veterans. Visitation will at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes all donations be made to a fund being set up in Jadyn's name to help pay for her medical treatment and recovery.
