Robbin L. Rob" Westergard

Robbin "Rob" L. Westergard, 54, of Newberry formerly of Midland, died Tuesday morning January 22, 2019 at his residence.

Born December 31, 1964 in Flint, son of Charles W. Jr. and Gertrude J. (Pischel) Westergard, Rob was a graduate of Bay City Western High School. Rob owned and operated First Transmission in Midland for 25 years. Rob was a resident of Newberry for the past year owning and operating Gear Tek Transmission. He was a member of F.O.E. #3677 in Sanford and enjoyed fishing, boating, bowling and riding ATV's.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Dortman of Newberry, whom he married July 12, 2014; children Vanessa (Travis) Schumann of Pinconning, Rob (Amy) Westergard Jr. of Auburn and Garrett Westergard Pochert of Midland; grandchildren Landon, Peyton and Avery Schumann and Brayden Westergard; mother Gertrude Pischel of Auburn; siblings Rhonda (John) Martinski of Auburn and Ryan Westergard of Midland; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends including new found friend Nick Frohrie.

Rob is preceded in death by his father Charles and brother, Randy.

Friends may call at the Auburn United Methodist Church on Saturday January 26, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a memorial service following at 11:00 am at the church. A memorial service will also be held at a later date at the F.O.E. #3677 in Sanford. Local arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
