Richard L. Tripp

Richard Leroy Tripp, age 86 of Sanford, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center. The son of the late Leroy E. and Lucille M. (Sweet) Tripp was born in Midland on August 4, 1934. On September 11, 1953, he married the former Judy S. Starks in Midland. They shared 48 years together before her passing in October of 2001.

Richard was skilled mason, working for many years before retirement. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing, and deer hunting.

Surviving are his children, Richard A. Tripp (Marge Church) of Midland, James E. Tripp (Julie St. Johns) of Sanford, Sue A. Hale of Midland, Sandy K. (Jeff) Kinne of Gladwin, Beverly J. (Michael) McIntosh of Arizona, Randy J. Tripp (Karrie Wagner) of Sanford, Troy J. (Melissa) Tripp of Sanford, Diane (Kevin) Otis of Midland; 17 grandchildren, along with many great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his brother Michael (Kathy) Tripp; sisters, Janet Finney, Judy Mercier, Sheryl Dice; and sister in law, Carolyn Tripp.

In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by his son, Steven D. Tripp; grandson, Harry "Carl" Hale; brother, Donald Tripp; and brothers in law, Denny Finney, Gary Mercier, and Ron Dice.

In accordance with Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Tripp Family. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
