Richard L. "Rick" Moody

Richard L. "Rick" Moody, Jr., age 61 of Midland, passed away peacefully on Saturday October 3, 2015 at his residence after a long battle with lung cancer. The son of Alicia (Ortiz) and the late Richard L. Moody was born in Alma, Michigan on December 18, 1953. Rick had been employed with Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company as a Computer Operator and after 19 years of service he retired in March of 2015. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, working on his 1954 Ford truck and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan.

Surviving his wife Mary of whom he married on July 2, 2011; daughters, Cari (Paul) Rhead, Teasha Moody, Trisha (Mike) Hafley; grandchildren, Elaina, Kambrie, Caitlin, Michael Rhead, Brittany & Adam Hafley; mother and stepfather, Alicia (Maynard) Hughes; brother, Tom Moody; father in law, Verne Young; many aunts, uncles & Cousins. In addition to his father, Rick was preceded in death by grandparents, Carl & Ella Mae Moody, Joseph & Guadalupe Ortiz, many aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Rick's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 8, 2015 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland. Interment of his ashes will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be offered to the families wishes.
