Richard D. Reeves

Richard D. Reeves, age 93 of Northwood, Iowa, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his residence. The son of the late Frederick and Helena (Donaghy) Reeves was born on April 24, 1928 in Midland where he was raised. Richard served his country honorably with the United States Airforce during the Korean Conflict. He graduated with high honors from the American School of Correspondence.

Richard was a member of the Midland First United Methodist Church, American Legion Midland Berryhill Post, American Legion Apache Junction Post, and the United Steel Workers Local 12075. He worked as a pipefitter with Dow Chemical Company for 32 years until his retirement in 1982.

Surviving is his wife, Margaret (Bartness) Reeves; children, Rick (Lindy) Reeves and Earl Reeves; step children, Randy Bartness, Kim Bartness, and Kelly Moore; grandchildren, Shawn (Sarah) Reeves, Katelin Johnson; and great grandchildren, Annora and Abel.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine Reeves; and siblings, Kenneth Reeves, Fred Reeves, and Violet Kinney.

Services to celebrate Richard's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Midland Memorial Gardens Chapel. Memorial contributions may be offered to the First United Methodist Church of Midland. Personal messages of condolence may be offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.com.
