Richard Lee Collins

Richard Lee Collins, age 88 of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 4, 2025 with family by his side. He was born in Sterling, Michigan on February 9, 1937 to the late Irum and Bessie (Moore) Collins. Richard was raised in Rhodes and was a graduate of Pinconning High School. He enjoyed being outdoors with his favorite hobbies being golfing, hunting, and fishing. But mostly he enjoyed winning at euchre.

On June 6, 1959 Richard married the former Carol Couier in Pinconning. They shared 63 years together before her death in 2022. Richard is survived by his children, Rodney Collins (Luann) of Midland, Rochelle Collins of Auburn and the daughter of his heart, Jamie (Mike) Champlin of Hope, IN; grandsons, Jacob (Kaitlyn) Champlin of Nashville, IN and Daniel (Allyson) Champlin of Whitestown, IN; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Allen, Fern, Donna, Dorothy, Tom, and Wanda.

There will be a funeral service for Richard at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Wilson Miller Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be at a later date in St. Michael's Cemetery in Pinconning. Memorial contributions may be offered to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
