Richard Allen Clark

Richard Allen Clark, age 95, of Midland, died March 28, 2010 at King's Daughters. The son of the late Arthur and Bertha (Allen) Clark was born October 30, 1914 in Wacousta, Michigan. Dick graduated form Grand Ledge High School and attended MSU for two years.
On September 28, 1940 he married the former LouAnna Gilson who predeceased him in 1993. Mr. Clark was a long time Midland resident and had worked as a process engineer for Dow Corning; retiring in 1977 after 40 years of service.
During his long life, music remained a passion with him. He was a charter member of the Men of Music participating in practices well into his 90's. Additionally he continued to sing with the Messengers of Note while residing at King's Sons and Daughters Home. Dick was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Midland Country Club. For the last 33 years he divided his time between Wixom Lake and Kissimmee, Florida. This allowed him to play golf year round which he did until he was 90. "Mr. Clark will be remembered most for his passion for music, his love of conversation and his wonderful smile:

He is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and David Poole of West Chicago, Diane and Dave Kosht of Hope, Susan and Duane Burtch of Midland; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Charles Keyworth, of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider MidMichigan Home Care (Hospice).
