Richard E. Berger passed peacefully in his home on November 27, 2018 surrounded by family. Richard had a rewarding career with Dow Corning in both Midland and Brussels, Belgium. After retiring, he helped Habitat for Humanity for over 10 years in Gladwin County, where he and his wife, Sandra, enjoyed cottage living in Sugar Springs for 19 years. After leaving Sugar Springs, they returned to their Midland home where they had raised four children. Over the years, Richard welcomed and enjoyed interacting with his grandchildren, Daniel, Tyler, Olivia, Sylvia, Shaylee, Nathan and Megan, as family gatherings were always very important to him.
Richard is survived by his wife Sandra, daughters Carol (Mike Hanley), Susan Freed, and Amy (David Szaraz), son Scott (Natalie), his seven beloved grandchildren, two sisters Pat (Norm Negus) and Carol (Rusty Sloan), and special nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. For anyone wishing to extend expressions of sympathy, a contribution to a charity of your choice in Richard's name would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Personal messages of condolence maybe offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.comVisits: 0
