Raymond Oscar Kea

June 29, 1944 — November 2, 2015

Raymond O. Kea, age 71 of Billings Twp. died Monday, November 2, 2015 at the MidMichigan Medical Center. The son of the late Oscar R. and Dorothy (Gray) Kea was born on June 29, 1944 in Highland Park, MI and was raised and educated in Wayne, MI. On April 3, 1965 he married the former Kaye Burling in Wayne, MI. Ray served with the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. Upon his return from the military he lived in Westland and began his thirty six year career with Consumers Power Co. as a gas service technician. After retiring in 2004 he moved to Wixom Lake, Billings Township. Ray enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Ray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kaye; son Kevin (Charlene) Kea of Beaverton; daughter Michele (Mark) Thompson of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren Ryan Thompson, Matthew Thompson, Jenifer Kae; and brother Ronald (Sandra) Kea of Zephyrhills, FL.

Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm when military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the Midland Area Veterans and the US. Army Honors Team. Funeral Service will then be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles Keyworth of First United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 10:00 am Friday, November 6, 2015.
Donations in Mr. Kea's memory may be offered to the Parkinson Foundation.
