Raymond S. Babinski, age 90 of Midland, passed away Sunday morning January 12, 2020 at The Toni and Trish House. The son of the late Frank and Mary (Machelski) Babinski was born in Williams Township on June 19, 1929. Ray served in the National Guard, was employed with The Dow Chemical Company until his retirement in 1982. He was a former member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fisherville where he served on the parish council and enjoyed being the custodian for many years. Ray is a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Larkin. He enjoyed working in his garden, playing golf and cooking fried chicken for many family functions. Ray was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4158 in Auburn and in his earlier years was a Little League Coach.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years the former Ruth D. Bartos whom he married on June 6, 1953 in Assumption Church; children; Debra (Brian) Sharpe of Sanford, James Babinski of Freeland, LuAnn Elliott of Livermore, CA, Kevin Babinski of Midland, Colette (Tom) Bouwhuis of East Jordan, Mi., Ken (Laurie) Babinski of Midland; grandchildren, Steven & Mark Sharpe, Megan, Ty & Isaac Babinski, Claire & Grace Elliott, Kurt Bouwhuis, Rachel Bryfczynski, Laura Do, Kenny, Brendan & Matthew Babinski; great grandchildren, Malcom, Quentin, Sawyer, Jonathan, Tyler, Charlotte, Rosie, Mason, Alden & Rozlyn; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his siblings, Stanley Babinski, Gertrude Campbell, Walter Babinski, Sarah Balwinski, Arlene Schurr, Marie Grzegorczyk and his son in law, Mike Elliott.
The Funeral Liturgy for Ray will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 16, 2020 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church with Fr. Joe Griffin officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held at 2:00 pm. in St. Anthony Cemetery. Family will receive guests at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3 until 8:00 p.m. where the Christian Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Family has requested that memorial, be offered in Ray's name to Assumption BVM Church, The Toni and Trish House and Bernadine Sisters of St. Francis.
