Peter L. Simpson

Peter L. Simpson, age 64 of Midland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home. He was born in Midland on June 13, 1959 to the late Elbert and Joan (Chaffee) Simpson. Pete married the former Marcelle Poland on June 21, 1997. He spent 32 years as a service manager and the last 12 years in the parts department Wieland International servicing semi-trucks. He enjoyed boating and could often be found at the lake house on Little John Brown Lake, which goes into Horsehead Lake. Pete loved working on and putting things together. He enjoyed cruising on the pontoon, bon fires, shooting pool, playing darts and cards, and hanging out with his family and friends. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving is his wife of 26 years, Marcelle Simpson; daughter, Tonya Gillespie; grandchildren, Keegan, Julianna, and Bentley; and sister, Kim Simpson; and many family members on Marcee's side of the family.

There will be a funeral service held at 11 am on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Midland. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm on Thursday at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home and on Friday at the church from 10 am until the time of service.
