Pearl Eileen Pennebaker, 95, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in her home at Riverside Place in Midland, MI. She was born November 10, 1922 in Seneca, IL to Harl and Pearl Virgo Jackson. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Charles Pennebaker; and two sisters, Mae Foehringer and Evelyn Jackson.
Eileen married Charles on November 2, 1940 at the Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green, MO. She is survived by their three children: Cheri Edgemon of Oceanside, CA; Nancy (Cal) Ieuter of Midland, MI; Dr. David (Doris) Pennebaker of Phoenix, AZ. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Todd (Amy) Wise of Stafford, VA; Robin (Gene) Tomlin of Gainesville, VA; Brad (Maggie) Wise of Vienna, VA; Randy (Taralyn) Wear of Harrisonburg, VA; Kurt (Amy) Ieuter of Midland, Karl (Julie) Ieuter of Sanford, MI; Heidi Ieuter of Cincinnati, OH; Erik Ieuter of Gainesville, FL; Tammie (Sal) Torres of Glendale, AZ; Kory Pennebaker of Phoenix, AZ. Eileen has eighteen wonderful great-grandchildren: Brittany and Aurora Wise, Bryce Riden; Gavin and Kirsten Tomlin; Lindsay and Maggie Wise; Khloe, Cambree, and Amelia Wear; Alex, Austin, Drew, and Lauren Ieuter; Abigail, Rachael, and Adele Ieuter; and Caitlyn Torres. She also has one great-grandchild: Naomi Wise.
Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma will be forever in our hearts.
Eileen loved to travel. In November, she flew to Grand Cayman to celebrate her 95th birthday. Then, in December she flew to Arizona to visit family and friends. Family celebrations and activities were favorite times for her; she also loved to read, play bridge, fish, and play Words With Friends.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside Place, 400 East Main Street, in the third floor lounge this Sunday, March 11 at 6pm. Rev. Jung Eun Yum, of the First United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will be at National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, in Phoenix, AZ.
