Patrick E. Havens age 77 of Midland died Thursday morning July 8, 2010 at Brittany Manor. The son of the late Boyd and Mary (Gransden) Havens was born on March 17, 1933 in Hope, MI. Pat served for four years in the Air Force during the Korean War. On June 14, 1958 he married Eva K. Hiner in Hope. He worked for the Dow Chemical Co. for 37 1/2 years, retiring in 1988 as an Instrument Technologist. Pat was a member of Homer United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, playing cards, camping, water skiing, and gardening. Pat spent the winters after retirement in New Port Richey, Florida. He was a member of the American Legion Berryhill Post 165.
Mr. Havens is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eva K. Havens; son, Ricky Lee Havens of Midland; daughters, Pamela (Jim) Brogren-McFadden of Midland, Patricia Crumm of Clinton Township; five grandchildren, Kimberly (Erick) Johnson, Christy Brogren, Karl Brogren, Amber Crumm, and J.T. Crumm; brother, William Havens of Sanford; sister, Mina Hood of Archbold, Ohio. He was predeceased by brothers, Carl Havens and Floyd Havens, and sisters, Doris Havens and Dorothy Marsh.
The family would like to thank Mr. Havens special caregivers, especially Stacy and Kenya.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday July 12, 2010 from Homer United Methodist Church. Pastor David G. Mulder will officiate. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery with Military Funeral Honors being provided by the United States Air Force and Midland Area Veterans. Family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
