Otto "Brownie" E. Young

Otto E. "Brownie" Young, age 83 of Midland died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant.

The son of the late Lyle and Leola (Russell) Young was born November 23, 1929 in Mason, Michigan. "Brownie" married Marguerite "Peggy" Thomas November 4, 1949. He had worked for Wilse Lumber Company as a Timber Cutter most of his life. "Brownie" enjoyed his life in the great outdoors. He looked forward to traveling to the UP with his father, brothers and sons to bear hunt.

Mr. Young is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy; sons, David (Nancy) Young and Thomas (Jackie) Young all of Midland; grandchildren, Ben (Patty) Young and Mark Young; great grandchildren, Liam, Emma and Eva Young; brothers, Curly (Bev) Young, Butch (Judy) Young, and Buck (Lois) Young; sisters, Eva (Don) Searfoss and Sue (Phouc) Searfoss; and sister in law, Phyllis Young.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Wayne, Lyle Jr. and Russ Young.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been arranged by the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Private interment will be in Homer Township Cemetery at a later date.
