Otis Lyle Hollingshead

Otis Lyle Hollingshead, age 78 of Midland, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home. The son of the late Otis B. and Halcyone (Wilson) Hollingshead was born November 8, 1936 in Midland where he was raised and educated. Otis served with the U. S. Army from 1959 thru 1962. He married the former Eleanor M. Pomranky on October 16, 1964 and after 35 years of marriage she predeceased him June 17, 2000. Otis was a carpenter for over 30 years in the Midland and Flint areas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Mr. Hollingshead is survived by his sons Steven (Paulette) Lambert of Drummonds, Tennessee, Tony Lambert of Ludington, Neil (Becky) Hollingshead of Flint, Phillip (Judy) Hollingshead of Sanford, Douglas (Beckie) Hollingshead of Midland; daughters Jackie (Mike) Shier of Negaunee, Melodie Sheets of Midland, Ann Hollingshead of Midland; 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brother Barry Hollingshead of Midland.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his brothers Leon and Sherrill.

Funeral services for Mr. Hollingshead will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, July 17, 2015 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Shidler, Chaplain of Heartland Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery with military rites under the auspices of the Midland Area Veterans and the U.S. Army Funeral Honors Team.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Donations in Mr. Hollingshead's memory may be offered to Heartland Hospice.
