Oralou Larue

OraLou (Dunn) LaRue, age 94, of Midland, died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at MidMichigan Stratford Village.
The daughter of the late John and Mary (Thayer) Dunn was born in Rosendale, Wisconsin on May 11, 1914. OraLou moved to the Midland area in 1925 where she was raised and educated. In September of 1935, in Midland, OraLou married Wilber LaRue. He died on October 14, 1978.
She first worked at the Midland Credit Bureau until she had her daughters. She devoted her time to raising her family, enjoying camping, cooking and baking pies, volunteering and spending time with friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and later a member of Poseyville United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at the Ernie Wallace Blood Bank for many years.

Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Terrence) Brown of Midland and Loretta (James) McLeod of Bayfield, Colorado; grandchildren, Michelle (Brown) and Matthew Stephens, Cynthia (Howell) and Patrick Caton, Brenda (Howell) and Greg Smith; and eleven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, OraLou was predeceased by her brothers, Mark, Edward, Robert and Leo Dunn; and grandson, Jeffrey Brown.

A memorial service will be held at Noon on Monday, June 15, 2009 at Poseyville United Methodist Church with visitation at 11:00 am.
Memorial donations may be offered to Poseyville United Methodist Church, MidMichigan Home Care (Hospice) or the donor's choice.
