Nancy F. (Searle) Leigeb, age 75 of Midland died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Colonial Villa surrounded by her family.
The daughter of the late Clyde and Marguerite (Jones) Searle was born February 5, 1937 in Flint, moving to Averill as a youth, where she was raised and educated.
On July 27, 1957 Nancy married Joseph Leigeb at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford. After 50 years of marriage, Joseph predeceased his wife November 24, 2007.
Nancy had worked at the Dow Chemical Company and retired in 1990. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for over 60 years and the Sanford American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed reupholstering furniture, gardening, bird watching, and spending time at their cabin in Lake City.
Mrs. Leigeb is survived by her son, Mark (Maria Eva) Leigeb of Midland; daughter, Julie Mangels of Muskegon; grandchildren, Alex and Sara Leigeb, and Lukas and Nickolas Mangels; brother, Clyde Searle; sisters, Ruth Marie Tewksbury and Sandra (Dale) Lesh; many nieces; nephews; brothers in law and sisters in law.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Bertran Searle.
The family would like to thank the staff at Colonial Villa for their love and exceptional care and to Heartland Hospice for their wonderful support.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Paul V. Young of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Donations in Nancy's memory may be offered to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
