Nancy Mary Hamilton, born on April 6, 1935, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 18, 2026.

Nancy was born to Maria and Vincenzo Fichera, who immigrated from Italy and instilled in her the values of faith, family, hard work, and unconditional love that would guide her throughout her life.

On August 9, 1958, she married the love of her life, Jim Hamilton. Together they shared nearly 68 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with laughter, faith, traditions, and an unwavering devotion to one another.

Nancy was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Grandma, Nonna, loyal friend, and the heart of her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Hamilton; her sister Toni (Rich), her children, Cathy (Dennis Sauve), Sue (Dan Coulter), Jim Jr. (Kim), and Vince (Lori).

She was the proud and loving Grandma to her 13 grandchildren: Dennis, Jennifer (Brandon), Joshua (Jenny), Sean, Ryan (Tricia), Samantha (Chris), Sarah (William), Zachary, AJ, Rachel, Trae (Emily), Jadyn, and Tara.

Nancy (Nonna) was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life: Norah, Ethan, Charlotte, Joseph, Luca, Francesca, and Henryk. Plus, many many more nieces and nephews.

Nancy's caring heart extended far beyond her own family. As a Registered Nurse for more than 20 years, she devoted the majority of her career to caring for the tiniest and most vulnerable patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Her compassion, gentleness, and unwavering dedication brought comfort to countless families during some of the most difficult and joyous moments of their lives.

To know Nancy was to know someone whose greatest purpose was loving others. Her faith in Christ was the foundation of her life, and her greatest joy was caring for her family, welcoming everyone with an open heart, and making each person feel like they belonged. No one ever left Nancy's home hungry. Whether family, friends, neighbors, or someone she had just met, there was always a place at her table, another plate to set, and enough food for everyone. Her kitchen was a gathering place, her meals were an expression of her love, and her home was a place where people felt welcomed, cared for, and accepted. That generous spirit defined not only her home but also the way she lived her entire life.

A funeral service to honor Nancy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church (Our Lady of Grace Parish), 2500 N. West River Rd., Sanford, MI.
