Nancy J. Courter, age 80, formerly of Midland died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Mercy Manor in Grayling, MI. The daughter of the late Albert and Nora (McGiveron) Bailey was born on June 2, 1931 in Holly, MI. On September 2, 1955 she married Mr. Thomas Courter in Forest Hill. Mr. Courter predeceased her on November 13, 1984. Nancy made her home with her son Scott and moved to Roscommon in 2010. She was an avid reader and enjoyed card games. Nancy loved the Detroit Red Wings and followed them for many years.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Thomas (Karyn) Courter, II of Essexville, Scott (Linda) Courter of Roscommon; daughters, Sharon (special friend Jerry) Courter of Midland, Amy Jo (Craig) Courter-Moten of Baton Rouge, LA, Jeanie (Ben) Hassen of Midland; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard, Russell and Robert Bailey. She was predeceased by her son Chuckie in 1954.

Funeral service for Nancy will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, January 12, 2012 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Griggs, Pastor of the Carsonville United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to the Carsonville United Methodist Church.
