Nancy E. Banules, age 68 of Sanford died Friday, February 27, 2015 at her home.
The daughter of the late George B. and J. Patricia (Leonard) Horning was born March 2, 1946 in Midland. Nancy was raised and educated in Farwell, graduating in 1964 from Farwell High School.
On July 9, 1977 she married Anthony W. Banules. Nancy had been very active with the Midland Elks Lodge #1610 Elk Elles. She helped to serve and cater many dinners, served as hostess to other lodges during rituals, and spent endless hours helping with the annual Children's Haunted House. Nancy travelled extensively with Tony on Walleye Tournaments where she helped to keep the wives entertained. She was an excellent cook and assisted not only the Elks but the Knights of Columbus with dinners.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tony; sons Patrick (Debbie) Sandow of Midland and Jason Sandow of Fenton; daughters JoEllen McMullen of Midland and Rebecca Shauger of Battle Creek; grandchildren Nevyn Schultz, Cody Schultz, Andrew Bovee, Elizabeth Starkweather, Spencer Sandow, Emmanuel Sandow, Sarah Sandow, Kate Sandow, D.J. Sandow, Eliza Wager and Aubrey Sandow; great grandson Derrick Connors; brother Al Horning of Mt. Pleasant; sisters CoraLee Ceilinski of Montgomery, TX and Carrie.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters Pam Degeer and Patricia Cooper; brothers in law Jerry Ceilinski and Leon Degeer.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Father Dan Fox, OFM-Cap. officiating.
Memorials may be offered to the Mid Michigan Autism Association.
