Minnie E. Havens, age 101 of Hope died Thursday March 8, 2012 at Cascades Senior Living. The daughter of the late John and Anna (Boroff) Andrick was born on December 15, 1910 in Hope where she was raised and educated. She married Harold Havens on April 16, 1929. After nearly 64 years of marriage, he predeceased her on May 17, 1993. Minnie attended the Hope United Methodist Church was a member the Historical Society of Central Alaska and the Estey Moose Lodge. She had wintered in Arizona for many years and enjoyed music, singing, knitting, gardening, hunting and traveling.
Minnie is survived by her son, Harold Wilbur Havens of Hope; grandchildren, Steven (Glee) Havens of Munith, MI, Joseph (Marie) Havens of Pinckney, MI, great grandchildren, Liza, Steven, Sharon, Stephanie, Joshua, Ashton, Wesley, Madison; and 4 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Minnie was predeceased by her son, Raymond in 1930; siblings, Earl, Pearl, Veda, Flossie Stouts, Harley, Wesley, Floyd Andrick, Effie (Andrick) Hall and Grace (Andrick) Keber.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, March 12, 2012 from the Chapel at the New Hope Cemetery with Pastor Patrick Poag of Hope United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 6 and at the cemetery chapel on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to the New Hope Cemetery Chapel Fund or to Hope United Methodist Church.
