Milford E. "John" Parsons

Milford E. "John" Parsons, age 81 of Freeland, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday September 24, 2011 at his residence. The son of the late Earl and Edith (Buckey) Parsons was born in Midland on November 24, 1929 where he was raised and educated. John served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with The Dow Chemical Co. retiring in 1986 after 35 ½ years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. On September 11, 1954 in First Methodist Church in St. Louis, Michigan John married the former Dorothy Best. She died on March 23, 1998.

Surviving are his sons, Randy Parsons, James (Diane) Parsons all of Midland, Thomas (Maria) Parsons of Freeland, Jeffrey (Christinea) Parsons of Auburn; daughters, Debra (Roger) Seer of Midland, Susan (Lance) Ouellette of St. Johns, Deanna (Gary) Jammer of Midland; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Melvin (Kay) Parsons, Keith (Joyce) Parsons, Mervin (Mary) Parsons, Raymond (Edie) Parsons; sisters, Neoma Richards, Barb Parsons, Genevieve Marton; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert Parsons, Edward Parsons, Norman Parsons and Bernard Parsons; sisters, Helena Coates and Phyllis Parsons.

Funeral Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 29, 2011 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Brother Larry Abbott will officiate. Interment will follow in Poseyville Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials maybe offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund or Saginaw Rescue Mission. Personal messages of condolence to the family may be offered at www.wilson-miller.com
