Melanie M. Maltby

Melanie M. Maltby, age 50, of Sanford, Michigan, passed away on April 23, 2026.

Born on June 22, 1975, to Kenneth and Phyllis (Hammond) Maltby, Melanie grew up with a passion for creativity and connection. She was a talented artist who loved crocheting and often made blankets for her family and friends. An avid reader from a young age, Melanie found joy in books and cherished moments spent playing board games with loved ones. Her compassionate and caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her, especially her children. Melanie was a wonderful, kind, and caring mother who would do anything for them.

Melanie is survived by her daughters, Ashlie (Adam) Weckle and Alayna Dewey; mother, Phyllis Maltby; and her siblings, Jay Maltby, Corey (Sue) Maltby, and Alicia (Angel) Gomez. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Maltby, and the love of her life, Edmond Bearse.

In accordance with Melanie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
