Maureen "Carol" L. Siekierda

Maureen "Carol" L. Siekierda, age 85 of Verity Shores, passed away July 6, 2023 at her home. She was born on March 27, 1938 in Detroit to the late William and Edith (Francis) Hamilton. During summers as a child, Carol would go to Mackinac Island, something she really enjoyed. Carol was married to John T. Siekierda and they spent 47 years together before his death. She was a devout Catholic and loved her sports teams, especially the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. Carol enjoyed going for boat rides on Round Lake, playing bingo, playing cards and Hallmark movies.&

Carol will always be remembered for the love and care she gave to her family. Surviving are her children, John W. (Patty) Siekierda, Joe (Lori) Siekierda, Marge Czop, and Scott Siekierda; grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda), Jacob, Andrew, Samantha, and Olivia; great grandchild, Ava; brother, James (Nancy) Hamilton; and sisters in law, Joan Hamilton and Judy Hamilton; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Elizabeth Hamilton, William (Pat) Hamilton, Richard (Clare) Hamilton, Chuck Hamilton, Gloria (Arnold) Werner, and Kenneth Hamilton.

The family would like to thank Carol's niece, Carol Kubinski, for providing love, care and support for their mother.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Sanford. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7pm on Wednesday at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home and on Thursday at the Church from 10 am until the time of service.
