Maura "Jim" Bartch Jr.

Maura "Jim" Bartch Jr. was born October 25, 1924 in Buchanan, Michigan. He passed away March 28, 2024 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint at the age of 99. Jim graduated from High School in Detroit, Michigan. After school he joined the Army and served in Europe during World War 2. Jim then spent many years working at General Motors Tech Center before retiring in 1986.

Jim spent many years on the Edenville Township Fire Board. He was an avid gardener and grew the best tomatoes and orchids. Jim's interest in aviation lead to him getting his license, owning several planes, and being a member of the AMA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his yearly trip to Wyoming with friends for antelope. After retiring he moved to Sanford Lake where he did most of his fishing. Jim loved his beagle dogs and owned several throughout the years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Maura James and Alice Irene (Kean) Bartch, and his sister, Maureen. He is survived by many friends in the area.

There will be a graveside service held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Old Edenville Township Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at Swanton Hall. Arrangements are under the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home.
