Matilda M. Stellmacher

Matilda M. Stellmacher, age 81 of Sanford, died Saturday morning June 28, 2014 at her residence. The daughter of the late Daniel T. and Hazel (Sorg) Green was born in Midland on June 25, 1933 where she was raised and educated. Matilda had been employed with the Midland Public School until her retirement in 1989 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and doing quilts, going camping, traveling and being with her grandchildren. On July 5, 1952 in Midland Matilda married David Stellmacher, Sr. He died on May 27, 2011.

Surviving is her son, David Stellmacher, Jr. of Midland; daughters, Hazel (Perry) Goldschmidt of Colorado, Helen Reynolds of Midland; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, George Green of Hope, Robert Green of Midland. In addition to her parents, Matilda was preceded in death by son, Daniel Stellmacher; daughter, Cathy Stellmacher; son in law, Thomas Reynolds.

A celebration of her life will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 5, 2014 at Holy Scripture Lutheran Church with Reverend Paul schneider officiating. Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Holy Scripture Church or Meals on Wheels.
