Mary Jane (Skutt) Starks

Mary Jane (Skutt) Starks, 70, of Midland died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 her home. The daughter of the late Lloyd and Melva (Rowe) Skutt was born November 30, 1938 in Midland where she was raised and educated. On September 29, 1956 Mary married Jack Starks. She worked at the family owned B & W Restaurant in Sanford and later at the Gordonville Grocery for several years. Mary was an avid quilter enjoyed family ball games and was a shopper at heart.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jack; sons, Jack Starks and his former wife, Penny Searfoss, Bill Starks and his former wife, Sherry Starks Skutt, Lloyd Starks and his friend, Christine Charville, and Ralph (Kelly) Starks all of Midland; daughters, Barbara (Bruce) Curtis of Midland, Karen (Brandon) Crouch of Murry, Kentucky, Julie (William) Hyer of Sanford, Kay (Matt) Arnold of Perry; -24- grandchildren; -11- great grandchildren; god son, Mikie Burton; and family members, Mark Brown, Dave Johnson, Dan Nelson and Bonnie Ortman. Mary was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Starks; step father, Charles Callow and brother, Jim Skutt

Funeral services for Mrs. Starks will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 7, 2009 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Becknell of Midland Missionary Church officiating. Interment will follow in Lee Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00.
