Mary L. Hintz, age 69 of Midland, died Friday evening February 28, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center. The daughter of the late Joseph and Louise I. (Czuba) (Drzyzga) Pitch was born in Midland on April 10, 1944 and was raised and educated in Bay City, graduating from Midland High School in 1962. Mary worked for Airport Grocery, was a noon aide at school, worked at Hamilton Bakery, and Johnson Flowers. She enjoyed baby sitting her grandchildren after she retired, playing bingo, going on casino trips, camping with her family and traveling. Mary was the main stay for the family, putting them first. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
Surviving is her husband of 48 years Norman Hintz of whom she married on February 19, 1966 in St. Anthony Catholic Church; sons, Kris (Paula) Hintz, Kevin (Margaret) Hintz, Keith Hintz all of Midland; daughters, Kari (Anthony) Rubenacker, Kathy Hintz all of Midland; grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Renee Hintz, Brooke, Seth Rubenacker; Mary Campbell-Hintz, Andrew, Brianna, Courtney Cross; brothers, Anthony Pitch of Rhodes, John Pitch of Auburn, Frank Pitch of Ypsilanti, Mark Pitch of Rhodes; sister, Julie Schultz of Midland; many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Liturgy for Mary will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 4, 2014 at Assumption Catholic Church. Fr. Joe Griffin will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow in New Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd, Midland on Monday from 2 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Christian Vigil Service will take place Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. from the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to Midland County Humane Society.
