Mary Lou Faries, age 80 of Midland, passed away Monday April 10, 2017 at her residence. The daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude B. (Gittins) Grandstaff was born in Flint Michigan on April 13, 1936 where she was raised and educated until moving to Midland in 1975. Mary Lou had been employed with Northwood University until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Midland Rebekah Lodge 378, Past Noble Grand Member of Irish Belles of Clare, Ladies Encampment Auxiliary, Past Grand Matriarch Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant, Past Association President of Patriarchs Militant, Past President International Association Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant, member of the Midland Odd Fellow Lodge 418 and currently President of the Rebekah Assembly of Michigan.
Surviving is her sons, Christopher C. Faries, Timothy M. Faries; and many other closes friends that help care for her. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Grandstaff; sister, Alta Holliday; dear friend and companion, Glen Sanger who died on January 6, 2017.
