Mary R. (Bruce) Domanski

Mary R. (Bruce) Domanski, age 85 of Midland, died early Wednesday morning, March 31, 2010 at MidMichigan Stratford Village. The daughter of the late Ralph and Anna (Hayes) Capps was born in Pekin, Iowa on October 25, 1924 where she was raised and educated. Mary had resided in Flint since 1953, until moving to Midland 2007. She was a longtime member of Hope United Methodist Church in Flint and recently a member of First Baptist Church in Midland. On January 17, 1948 in Bowling Green, Ohio Mary married Richard Bruce. He died in January of 1970. She then married Stanley Domanski on April 6, 1974. He died in 1987. Mary enjoyed playing golf, bowling, gardening, watching many different sports, especially football, basketball and watch her sons playing hockey. She was a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary in Flint.

Surviving are her sons, Daniel (Mary) Bruce of Suffolk, Virginia, Jeffrey Bruce of Tokyo, Japan, Dr. David (Dr. Jan Lehtinen) Bruce of New Orleans, Louisiana, Gerald (Kimberlee) Bruce of Midland; step children, David Domanski, Michael (Kathy) Domanski all of Gaines, Michigan, Elizabeth (Michael) Charlton of Flint, Michigan; grandchildren, Charlie, Ben, Ethan, Laura, Kevin, Jenny, Jason, Katie, Marie, Scott, Craig, Allan, Eric, Kyle, Julie and Antyne; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Betty) Capps of Iowa; sisters, Alma Steen and Cora Lee (Bob) Whitton all of Iowa. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mary was preceded in death by a step son, John Domanski; bothers, Leonard and Leland; sister, Evelyn Whitten.

Funeral services will take place 10:00 a.m. Monday April 5, 2010 from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. John Dick of First Baptist Church, Midland will officiate. Interment will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Mary's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to First Baptist Church. Personal messages of support may be left for the family at www.wilson-miller.com.
