Marvel D. (Draves) Pugsley

Marvel D. (Draves) Pugsley, 87, of Midland died Friday, July 03, 2009 at MidMichigan Stratford Village.

The daughter of the late August and Clara (Kaschefsky) Draves was born November 4, 1921 in Detroit and moved to Midland when she was eleven years old.
Marvel married David J. Pugsley in Topeka, Kansas on December 3, 1943. After nearly 61 years of marriage, David predeceased his wife on September 29, 2004.
Marvel and her husband were instrumental in the start up of Pineview Homes in Evart. Marvel was an active volunteer there for over 30 years. She was a former Camp Fire Girls leader, a volunteer at the State Home in Mount Pleasant and a member of Assembly of God where she was very active with the Church Food Bank.

Mrs. Pugsley is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (James C.) Gill of Macedonia, Ohio; grandchildren, Tammy (John) Port and Jennifer Gill; brothers, Milton Draves and Roy Draves, both of Midland; and sisters, Evelyn Hockemeyer of Midland and Dolores Lemche of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 8, 2009 from the Christian Celebration Center with the Reverend Donald W. Calvin of Freeland Assembly of God officiating. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Monday from 6-8 pm, Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the service.
Memorials may be offered to the Pineview Home, c/o the Pugsley House.
