Mark Allen Lauer

Mark Allen Lauer, age 76 of Midland, passed away at his home with family near his side on October 17, 2024. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 24, 1947 to the late Russell H. and Naomi F. (David) Lauer. Mark served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 165 in Midland. He enjoyed being outside with his favorite activities being camping, hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden. Most of all, Mark will be remembered for the love he had for his family, especially his grandkids.

Mark married the former Sue Higgins in Hemlock, Michigan on January 10, 1976 and they have shared nearly 49 years with each other. Together they raised their three children, Nathan (Melinda) Lauer, Matthew (Kristy) Lauer, and Amber (Robert) Parrish. Mark was a loving grandfather to Louis, Tyler, Amy, Jake, Carson, Austin and Alex; and recently became a great grandfather to Lotus. Also surviving Mark are his siblings, Sandra (Ron) Wiles and Jacqueline (James) Simpson. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon (Gilbert) Wolter.

All are invited to attend a service to celebrate Mark's life at 11:00 am on Monday, October, 21, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3701 Jefferson Ave. Midland, MI 48640. Pastor Danielle Shealy and Pastor John Engler will officiate with a luncheon to be held at the church following the service. Visitation will be held at the church only on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
