Marjorie A. (Story) Hyatt, age 84 of Midland passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Marjorie was born December 7, 1926 in Wheeler, Michigan, daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Hoard) Story. She graduated from Breckenridge High School and completed training as a licensed practical nurse at Wilcox Hospital in Alma, Michigan. She worked as a nurse at both Wilcox and Midland Hospital.
Marjorie was active in her church, Mt. Haley Church of God, for over 60 years. For many years she served as the church organist providing musical accompaniment for church activities in addition to worship services. She played the piano, organ and dulcimer. For several years she volunteered for the Merlene Missionary Circle raising funds for the Church and Missions.
Marjorie loved to travel and was fortunate to have traveled to England, Scotland, Italy and Sicily. She really enjoyed summer vacations with her family across the United States. She and her husband, Dale, wintered in Zephyr Hills, Florida for several years.
Marjorie was an avid gardener, spending countless hours in her many flower beds. She also enjoyed reading and crocheting, as two of her many hobbies.
Mrs. Hyatt is survived by her husband of 64 years, Loren Dale Hyatt, whom she married February 25, 1947 in Angola, Indiana; their five children, Rebecca Cole of Dayton, Ohio, Gloria Honeman of Saginaw, Carol (Dale) Boudreau of Bay City, Dale I. Barajas of Freeland, Jeffery Hyatt of Midland; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Shawn) Ross, Axson (Tracy) Boudreau, Jason (Ashley) Honeman, Crystal (Chris) Deary, Kaitlyn Barajas, Justin Boudreau, Nikolas Barajas and Chad Boudreau. There are also five great grandchildren who brought joy to Marjorie's life.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Virgil Dale Hyatt and brother, Carl Story.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 1, 2011 from Mt. Haley Church of God with Reverend David Aukerman officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorial condolences may be offered to Mt. Haley Church of God. Personal messages of support may be left for the family at www.wilson-miller.com
