Marilyn J. (Wolfe) Whipple, age 60 of Midland died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the MidMichigan Medical Center after a courageous and long struggle with cancer. The daughter of Vivian (Hoover) Gutchak and the late Duane Wolfe was born on August 18, 1949 in Midland where she was raised and educated. Marilyn worked for Meijer's in sales for 14 years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of the Midland Pentecostal Temple.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Keith Whipple, who was her strong care giver and support during her illness; daughters, Tina Whipple (Scott Randolph), Penny "Poops" Mauch (Mike Miller); her mother, Vivian Gutchak; grandchildren, Mary Whipple (Nathan McCann), Teresa Mauch; and great granddaughter, Megan Mosher. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Jim (Sharon) Wolfe, David (Carol) Wolfe, Daniel Wolfe & Dawn, Penny Frazier, Christine (Tracy) Chamberlein, Cindy, (Timothy) Thiel; many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews including her special great niece, Tori Ann "Tatter" Thiel; the father of her children, Keith "Butch" Whipple. In addition to her father she was predeceased by her beloved life partner, Tom Fisher; and step father, Donald Gutchak.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, February 1, 2010 from the Midland Pentecostal Temple with Pastor Michael Parsons officiating. Interment will follow in Midland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to the family.
