Marie M. (Ryan) Mahoney

Marie R. (Ryan) Mahoney, age 87 of Midland, passed away Thursday March 16, 2017 at the Carriage House in Bay City, The daughter of the late Robert I. and Helen R. (Curran) Ryan was born in Albany, New York on May 6, 1929 until moving to Midland in 1968. Marie was employed as a Registered Nurse with MidMichigan Medical Center until her retirement in 1998 after 20 years of service. After her retirement Marie then worked at Blessed Sacrament Church and the Montessori School in Midland. She enjoyed knitting, watch her children and grandchildren sporting events, bowling and watching college football. Marie was a member and very active with Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. On May 26, 1956 in Albany, New York Marie married James J. Mahoney, Jr. After 58 years of marriage he died on December 15, 2014.

Surviving is her sons, James (Dana) Mahoney of Midland, Christopher (Melissa) Mahoney of Las Vegas; daughters, Maureen (Scott) Legg of Augusta, Georgia, Susan (Tim) Craig of Midland; grandchildren, Melinda, Trevor, Kirstin, Quintin, Kandace, John, Giselle, Samantha, Summer, Noah; 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband Marie was preceded in death by brothers, John and Robert Ryan.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 22, 2017 from Blessed Sacrament Church with Fr. Kevin Maksym officiating. The rite of committal will follow in New Calvary Mausoleum. Family will receive friends at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home 4210 N. Saginaw Rd Midland on Tuesday from 2 till 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. with a Christian Vigil Service to be held at funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be offered to Alzheimer's Association or Seasons Adult Day Services.
