Margaret L. "Mickey" O'Hora

Margaret (Mickey) Lorraine O'Hora, age 87, a former longtime resident of Midland, passed away peacefully at her home in Mazomanie, WI on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011. She was born to the late Thomas A. and Gladys Meehan on Jan. 12, 1924 in Pontiac, MI. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati and married Dr. Bernard (Barney) A. O'Hora Jr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 9, 1998.
Mickey and Barney lived in Midland from 1954 until Barney retired from his Pediatric Practice in 1991. During that time, Mickey was an active member in the local community, working as a Registered Nurse in the Maternity Unit at Midland Hospital, serving as a member of the Intermediate School Board, serving as a delegate to two National Democratic Conventions, and performing community service through St. Brigid's Parish as a member of the Bronson Club.
Mickey is survived by her five children: Maureen (Carlos) Paz de Araujo of Colorado Springs, CO, and their children Mara (Kevin) Snyder of Mazomanie, WI, Alyssa, and Daniel; Timothy D. (Elaine) O'Hora and their children Kate and Megan of Fairfax Station, VA; Kathleen E. (Richard Schornstein) Pivarsky of Colorado Springs, CO, and their children Shannon (Steven) Krajczar, with great-granddaughter, Jaylnn Hall of Imperial, MO, and Lt. U.S.N. Edward Pivarsky of Anacortes, WA; Terrance A. (Melanie) O'Hora and their children Brittany, Devin and Sean of Midland; and Eileen M. O'Hora of Mount Horeb, WI. She was preceded in death by her son, Bernard A. O'Hora III (Tony); and a sister, Kay Buhrke.
It was her faith, prayers, family and friends that saw Mickey through to the end. She is now resting and enjoying the presence of God with her beloved husband and son. We can all be assured that we now have somebody in heaven who will look out for us; she will intercede before God for us, and will protect us and help us in any way we need.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec 11, 2011 from 3-6 p.m. at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd and at the church on Monday from 9-10 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated, 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at St. Brigid's of Kildare Catholic Church, Midland, Michigan. Interment will be at New Calvary Cemetery with a reception to follow.
