Mary Charlotte (Sload) Hill entered Heaven on Monday, June 4th, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther (Flowers) Sload, born in Mt. Joy, PA on March 5, 1922. Charlotte married Judson W. Hill on Ocotber 29, 1944 in Mt. Joy, PA. and after WWII ended, moved to Michigan. Jud worked for Dow Corning Corporation for 30 years and passed away in 2003 after nearly 60 years of marriage.
Charlotte was a devoted wife and mother, a wonderful grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and great aunt, and an exceptional homemaker. Charlotte will be remembered for her expertise at cooking, sewing and gardening. Throughout her life, she was active in church. She taught children's Sunday School classes, cooked many dinners and was very involved with missions. She sewed, crocheted and knitted thousands of items to support numerous projects. Most of all, Charlotte was a "prayer warrior", continually praying for her extended family, pastors and needs around the world.
Charlotte and Judson had three daughters; Jeanne (Peter) O'Neill, Joyce (Juan Jose) Hill - Martinez and Nancy Hill; 5 grandchildren, Mary (Jason) Cascone, Katie Schnepp, Jennifer Martinez-Hill (deceased), Shastin (Mark) Chin and Juan Jose Martinez-Hill; and 3 great-grandsons, Benjamin Cascone, Gavin and Mason Chin. Charlotte had 5 brothers and 2 sisters of whom Robert Sload of Texas survives her in addition to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, husband, and granddaughter Jennifer Martinez-Hill, Charlotte was preceded in death by her brothers, Warren, Charles, Jerry, and George Sload; and her sisters, Anna Sload - Wolgamuth, Grace Kaley.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church - Rio Bravo Mission or Gideons International.
