Lula M. Barber, age 80 of Midland, passed away Thursday evening April 13, 2017 at her daughters residence. The daughter of the late Joseph A. and Violet M. (Hayward) Ruckle was born in East Jordon on August 7, 1936 but had resided in the Sanford and Midland area for the last 15 years. Lula was a longtime member of Midland Baptist Church where she dearly loved playing the organ for over 31 years. She enjoyed sending birthday cards to everyone in the church, being with people and always had a warm welcoming smile. Lula was also a long time Prayer Warrior. On June 10, 1967 in Middleton, Michigan, Lula married Jack R. Barber. He died on December 6, 2007.
Surviving are her sons, James (Linda) Wilson, Bruce Wilson all of Midland, Bryan Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Darlene (John) Glasser of Midland; step children, George Barber and Mary (David) Girard; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
