Lucy Ann Mcinerney

Lucy Ann (Mattes) McInerney, age 82 of Coleman, passed away November 6, 2021 of congestive heart failure surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late William and Lucille (Hart) Mattes, Lucy was born in Saginaw on April 4, 1939 and grew up in Saginaw along with her 9 brothers and sisters. She married Richard McInerney on February 11, 1961 and they shared 60 years together.

Along with her husband, Lucy is survived by her Daughter Jeanette and Son Allan (Kim), Grandchildren: Meagan and Matt McInerney, brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucy worked for the Nabisco Food Company in Saginaw and at the Saginaw General Hospital. Lucy spent 15 years at Northwood University and another 11 years at the Soaring Eagle Casino.

Lucy enjoyed traveling in Michigan, walking and biking on the Pere Marquette trail, her friends and neighbors and the occasional foray into a casino.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Rose Shripka, a nephew, Tommy Lyons, sister-in-law, Sharon Mattes and brothers-in-law, Alan Shripka and Donald McInerney.

Funeral services for Lucy will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be offered to the Friends of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail, an organization that maintains the trail.
