Lucy Mae Havens, age 93 of Sanford, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Meridian Acres in Sanford. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on May 9, 1928 to the late Frank E and Ella N. (Daily) Dillow. On November 11, 1952, she married William B. Havens in Hope, MI and they shared 65 years together before his passing in 2018. Together, her and Bill loved to go camping and fishing. She loved taking photographs of nature and had a special knack for baking. Her greatest achievement was becoming a nurse and she will be remembered for the care she gave to others.&
Surviving are her children, Irene (Sid) Korvun of Odessa, Fl, Billie Piper of Conroe, Tx, Cheryl Huner of Sanford; six grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Lucy was the last of ten children and was preceded in death by her siblings. Also preceding her in death is her parents, husband, and son, Dan Havens.
Services for Lucy will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Wilson Miller Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30 am until the time of service. Committal services will be held on Saturday at 1pm at Midland Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be offered to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Midland or to the American Diabetes Association.
