Lucretia "Lu" J. Marden

Lucretia J. "Lu" Marden, age 84 of Midland, died Saturday, July 16, 2022. Born on April 3, 1938, she was the daughter of Fred and Jeannette (Mantell) Wendt. She married Jerald Marden on March 3, 1962 and they shared 54 years together before his death in 2016.

Lu was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Midland for many years and enjoyed her memberships with the Mothers of Twins Club and the Home Extension Club. She enjoyed watching home improvement shows, listening to modern Christian music, going to the casino, doing crossword puzzles and crafts, sewing, reading, and cooking. Most of all, she will be remembered for the love she had for her family, especially her twin daughters and four grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Carol Scott (Rick Colvin) and Margot Marden of Midland; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Zack, Aaron, and Ryan; and her former sons in-law, Keith Scott and Tom Rice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald Marden, parents, Fred and Jeannette Wendt, and daughter, Gail Marden.

Funeral Services for Lu will take place at 10 am on Friday, July 22, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Joshua Parsons officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Midland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home from 4 – 8 pm and on Friday at the church from 9 am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be offered to St. John's Lutheran Church or to the wishes of the family.
