Lucille Janice Reichard

It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of Lucille Janice Reichard of Midland, MI on April 29th, 2026, at the age of 85. Lucille, also affectionately known as Lou, Sally, and GG, was born January 18th, 1941, in Buffalo, NY, to parents Joseph and Evelyn (Koehler) Saunders. Lucille is formally of Buffalo, NY, Binghamton, NY, and Camp Hill, PA.

Lucille was a resilient woman who understood the value of family. With the untimely passing of her mother, Lucille dropped out of school to be caretaker for her father and four brothers. She persevered through this trying time and met the love of her life William, whom she married at 17 to begin her life journey. Lucille was blessed with a family of five children, and with them and a lifetime of beautiful memories and laughter.

In addition to her family devotion, Lucille was also a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman. She returned to school to obtain her GED as well as a license in cosmetology. Lucille successfully opened and managed two beauty salons in the suburbs of Buffalo, NY. Demonstrating her drive to succeed, she and her husband excelled in sales and marketing to become successful Amway direct distributors.

Lucille enjoyed many hobbies and activities. She was exceptional at cross-stitching, an enthusiastic gardener, a seasoned pinochle player, and an avid console and mobile game player. She also shared hobbies with her husband producing beautiful stained glass pieces and stunning doll houses. Lucille was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly tennis, and remained a dedicated fan supporting her childhood Buffalo sports teams.

Following the death of her husband, Lucille relocated to Midland, MI and was surrounded by family including many of her grand and great-grandchildren. She will be forever missed, but her legacy will endure through the memories of those that loved her.

Lucille leaves behind her son Joseph Michael (Laura) of Midland, MI; three daughters, Mary Lucille Sonner (Andrew) of Wellington, FL, Susan Marie of Midland, MI, and Sally Louise Pinzon of Rochester, NY; daughter-in-law Susan Eileen McMearty of Vineland, NJ; nine grandchildren, Laura, Stephen, Kelly, Patrick, William III, Benjamin, Allison, Connor and Landon; and four great-grandchildren, Richard, Autumn, Samuel and Isabella.

Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years William John, her son William John, Jr., and her grandson, Daniel "DJ".

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12th, 2026 at St. Agnes Catholic Church (Our Lady of Grace Parish), 2500 N. West River Rd., Sandford, MI.
