Louise (Sumner) Jackson

Louise Jackson, age 92 of Sanford, passed away Saturday evening, August 20, 2022 at Meridian Acres Assisted Living in Sanford. The last of 14 children of the late Augusta and Louise (Thompson) Sumner was born in Gilmore Township on April 30, 1930. Anyone that knew Lou knew her love of the outdoors and hunting.& It was her passion. At a young 85 years old, the family had to force her to stop climbing trees with her bow and arrow. She just knew the buck of a lifetime was waiting for her. Her family was her pride and joy. She spent countless hours playing cards and doing crafts with friends and family. If there was a way, she could help anyone, she would do it without hesitation. She loved hosting large family gatherings for the holidays. Her spunk will never be forgotten, and she never lost it. This showed through every year in her infamous Christmas letters.

Surviving is her husband of 72 years Gerald G. Jackson, of whom she married on November 4, 1949; children, Herb (Linda) Jackson, Sharon Sickels, Cathy Felsing, Jerrilyn (Mike) Moe; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her, grandchildren, Mike Moe, Tina Bunting; sons in law, James Felsing, Don Sickels.

Family will receive guests at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 until 8:00 p.m. There will be no formal services. The family would like to thank Care Team Hospice as well as both Olson Manor and Meridian Acres for the fantastic care that she received in her last months. Please consider them in lieu of flowers.
