Louise Coulson

August 21, 1918 — December 2, 2014

Louise Coulson, age 96 of Midland, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday December 2, 2014 at Colonial Villa. The only child born to the late Edward and Hallie (Van Evra) Weiler was born in Congress, Ohio. She lived briefly in New York, City, until returning to Columbus, Ohio at the age of 8. There she completed her education and graduated from Columbus School of Fine Arts. On April 5, 1941 Louise married Virgil A. Coulson in Columbus and after 57 years of marriage he died on September 8, 1998. In her younger days she worked in interior design. After World War II Louise became a homemaker raising her 4 children. She was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, its Women's Circle, the Dearing Club and En Avaunt. Louise enjoyed sewing, quilting, decoupage, beading and traveling. She was also a member of the Midland Beading Guild, the Bay Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Fiber Guild. Louise was Polio survivor in her early years.

Louise is survived by her children, Craig (Wanda) Coulson of Midland, Carl (Carol) Coulson of Nolensville, Tennessee, Cheryl (John) Downing of Jackson, Adrianne (Ira) Scates of Elwell, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral and committal services for Louise will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday December 5, 2014 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to Memorial Presbyterian Church or the March of Dimes which helped her when she had polio.
