Lorraine L. Reinke

Lorraine Louise Reinke, age 94 of Midland, passed away at her home on April 4, 2026. She was born in Cazenoia, Wisconsin on September 9, 1931, to the late Joseph and Barbara (Hanzel) Solchenberger. On June 9, 1952, she married William J. Reinke in German Town, Wisconsin and they shared 53 years together before his death in 2006.

Lorraine’s life was marked by her devotion to the Catholic Church. Praying the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy were important to her. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Sanford where she was actively involved in the Ladies Guild and organizing funeral dinners. Lorraine was also a member of the Legion of Mary and dutifully made rosaries.

Lorraine helped many people as a Daycare Assistant for Adult Education Services. She further nurtured her friends and family with her delicious baked goods. In her spare time, she enjoyed heading north to the Upper Peninsula to spend time at the family cabin, watching birds, and flower gardening; however, nothing could compare to having a nice bowl of ice cream.

Family was most important in Lorraine’s life, and she enjoyed spending time with them. Her memory will be cherished by her children, David (Kathy) Reinke, Daniel (Suzanne) Reinke, Deb (Dean) Pfruender, Christopher Reinke, Barbara Martin, Laura (James) Kildea, Mary (William) Angus, Joeseph Reinke, John (Janice) Reinke, James (Amanda) Reinke, and Jeffrey Reinke. Lorraine was also a loving grandma to 35 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her siblings, Ben Solchenberger, Jim Solchenberger, Tony Solchenger, Bernie Solchenberger, John Solchenberger, Julia Duylla and Lucy Cunningham.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (St. Agnes – Sanford) with Fr. Dan Fox, OFM Cap as celebrant. Visitation will be at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and on Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of mass. Lorraine’s parish wake service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30pm. This will be followed by recitation of the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
