Lois M. Yack, of Midland, born on June 24, 1926, to the late Karl A. and Edna K. (Buelow) Yack passed away Sunday morning July 15, 2012 at King's Daughters Home where she has lived for the last 2 years. She was 86 years old. Lois was born in Flint, Michigan and later moved to Janesville, Wisconsin along with her parents. They returned to Flint where she graduated from Flint High School in 1944. The family again moved this time to Framingham, Massachusetts. In 1952 she came to Midland where she worked for The Dow Chemical Co. eventually becoming a Senior Secretary until retiring in 1986 after 34 years of service. Lois was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Business Professional Women, where she served as president for two terms. She also served for many years in multiple ways at Kings Daughters Home. Lois was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Kiwanis. She volunteered at the MidMichigan Medical Center gift shop for many years doing inventory and scheduling of volunteers. Lois enjoyed traveling especially her many trips to Hawaii. She was also inclined to summer vacation in Traverse City along with her two close friends.

She leaves behind many relatives on both Yack & Buelow side including her special aunt, Eleanor (Yack) Niemiec, the last of her fathers 16 siblings; many friends including Mary Smith and Joyce Kanary both of Midland. Lois will be missed by all of us.

Funeral services for Lois will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 19, 2012 from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel Kempin of St. John's Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Midland City Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials maybe offered to St. John's Lutheran Church. Personal messages of condolence maybe offered to the family at www.wilson-miller.com
