Lita Lorraine (Krick) Coomer

Lita Lorraine (Krick) Coomer, age 86 of Midland, passed away peacefully at home with her family near her side. She was born in Crystal Valley, Michigan on December 12, 1937 to Vernon G. and Rose (Zimmerman) Krick. Lita was known for her love of baking, especially her sour cream drop cookies that, try as they might, no one could duplicate.

Lita married Wilson "Willie" C. Coomer on June 7, 1958 in Shepherd, Michigan. Together they raised their children, Craig Coomer, Faith (Richard) Lakso, Gail (Leonard) Switras and Charity McPherson. She was a loving grandmother to Jennifer (Darren) Kraenzlein, Melissa Shoesmith, Angela Lakso (Tristan Kittle), Eric Young, Rose Marie (Tyler) Kenny, Amanda (Kent) Seaman, Stephanie McPherson; and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Vernon G. Krick, Kay (Tim) Vinyard, and Kathy Cole.

In addition to her parents, Lita was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Wilson "Willie" C. Coomer; grandson, Jeremiah Lakso; sister, Emma Jean (Ralph) Brickner, and sibling's in-law, Susan Krick, Jim Cole.

Funeral services for Lita will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Wilson Miller Funeral Home, 4210 N. Saginaw Rd. Midland, MI 48640. Chaplain Teal Saylor will officiate with a luncheon to follow at the funeral home in the Miller Reception Room. Visitation will be on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be on Thursday at 2:30 pm in the Salt River Cemetery (Coe Twp) which is located on S. Shepherd Rd. about one and a half miles south of Shepherd.
