Linda Lee Johnston

Linda Lee Johnston, age 88 of Midland, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center. She was born to the late Adolph and Eunice (Sunday) Hierholzer on February 6, 1936 and was an only child. She was raised and educated in Midland, graduating from Midland High School in 1954. On May 2, 1959, Linda married Mark Johnston at First United Methodist Church in Midland.

Together, she and Mark were married 65 years and lovingly raised their children, Curtis (Terre) Johnston, Cathi Johnston, and Craig Johnston. Linda was an adoring grandmother to Justin (Megan), Sam (Alice), Claire; and great grandmother to Theon, Miles, and Elliott.

Linda was a longtime member of Midland First United Methodist Church, where she and her family participated in bake sales and other church functions. She worked a variety of retail positions throughout the years and enjoyed serving the public and the friends she made along the way. Linda will be remembered for the love she had for dogs, especially her own, Katee, Maggie, Lois, Elvis and Buddy.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her mother and father in-law, Lloyd and Catherine (McLaughlin) Johnston.

The family held a private funeral service and burial took place in Midland City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Humane Society of Midland County or any local animal rescue of your choice.
