Lily Rin Wint arrived on November 10, 2015 and changed our lives forever. We had the privilege of spending two and a half years with this truly remarkable little girl. Lily touched everyone she met with her charming personality and sweet spirit. She demonstrated how to live with joy, enthusiasm, and compassion for others. All who had the privilege of knowing Lily couldn't help but love her.
Lily Rin is
the
bravest person we have ever known. She endured more pain than most of us will ever experience, yet persevered through her suffering with grace and endless determination. A friend, referring to the devastation cancer wreaked upon her tiny body, summed it up well, "Lily's sweet spirit was just too big for her little body to contain."
Family members left behind: Her parents, Justin and Christina (Russell) Wint; her Papa and Grammy, Kevin and Rhonda (Pierson) Russell; her grandparents, Alan Wint (Victoria Santellano), and Marcia Zeiss (Casey Keene); Auntie Amanda and "Uncle Juicer," (Justin Russell), Uncle Dan and Aunt Jenny Zeiss, Aunt Crystal Wint, Uncle Shawn and Aunt Laura Wint; her Great-Grandparents: Richard and Marjorie Pierson, and Charlotte Russell; her cousins, Landon Eli and Madelyn Sky Wint, several beloved great uncles and great aunts, second-cousins, many, many friends, and last, but certainly not least, Lily's beloved cousins, who were truly more like her brothers, Peyton Roy and Brady William Russell. Life will never be the same for any of us, nor will we ever forget our sweet Lily Rin.
We rejoice that Lily's sight has been restored! She entered Heaven at daybreak on Memorial Day, May 28, 2018. As her spirit left us, the sky lit up with a lovely hue of pink. The first face she beheld upon her miraculous healing was the One who loves her most, Jesus Christ. Beside Him, welcoming her through Heaven's gate were: her Uncle Brian Russell and her Great-Grandpa, "Papa Roy-Boy"(Roy Russell); Great-Grandparents, Dennis and Judith Zeiss; Great Grandparents, Kenneth and Muriel Wint, her` cousin, Sophia Wint, and several Great-Great grandparents. They are certainly celebrating Lily's arrival and will share many happy adventures with our precious girl.
Along with Lily's doctors, surgeons, and angels, (a.k.a. nurses) our little girl fought a valiant battle against Neuroblastoma. She received premium care fit for a princess from the best of the best. We, her family, can testify to the selfless dedication these professionals exhibited through their strategic attack on cancer. Lily's best interest always came before their own ambitions. Indeed, they now share in our great agony, grieving with us, as people who deeply care for and love our baby. We would also like to recognize our family physician, Dr. Tammy Phillips, and her staff who cared for and loved Lily Rin since the day of her birth. Dr. Phillips is not "just" our doctor, but a highly-valued member of our family.
We would also like to recognize the significant efforts many of you have extended to Lily and us, her family. Thousands of believers carried our burdens to God's throne in their prayers. Many others provided financial and other practical assistance to our family during this unexpected crisis. We are incredibly thankful for each and every one of you who have been there for us in your own special way.
Lily's parents and family will receive visitors on Monday, June 4th, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home, located at 4210 N. Saginaw Road in Midland, Michigan; and again at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, prior to the 11:00 a.m. service at Midland Nazarene Church, 5700 Jefferson Road, Midland, MI.
We encourage you to dress casually and colorfully in accordance with our unique celebration of Lily's life. Perhaps you have a meaningful memory of a special time spent with Lily and her family. If so, please consider writing a note about this, or provide a copy of your own favorite photo for her family to keep and treasure. We will collect these at both the funeral home and church.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to a meaningful cause are asked to consider donating to the Lily Rin Wint Memorial Fund. Proceeds from this fund will be used towards further research of Neuroblastoma, and blessing other children and families battling pediatric cancer at C.S. Mott's Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Visitation Wilson MILLER Funeral Home
